Making Excellence Possible.

We help arts, theatre and heritage organisations become stronger, develop exceptional people and turn ambitious projects into reality — through organisational, financial and HR support, backstage and front-of-house training, funding and bid writing, and project development and delivery.

Stronger Organisations

Strong organisations make excellence possible.

Successful arts, theatre and heritage organisations need strong foundations. We help with the essential things that creative and heritage organisations need but which can easily be overlooked when everyone's attention is understandably concentrated on the performance, programme, collection, building or immediate project.

We understand the practical reality of operating cultural and heritage organisations — and we help put strong foundations underneath great creative work.

Great organisations need great people.

Backstage & Technical Training

Behind every performance is a crew making it possible.

Arts, Theatre & Heritage Ltd helps develop backstage and technical theatre skills — stage management, backstage practice, lighting, sound, crew working and health & safety.

Sandbox Theatres VR

Step backstage before you step backstage.

Sandbox Theatres VR was developed specifically to help address the challenge of training people for backstage theatre environments. Immersive and virtual learning can help people understand theatre spaces, situations, terminology and working practices before or alongside practical experience.

Training is not limited to VR. ATH can also provide instructor-led training and development as appropriate.

Front of House

Excellence doesn't stop when the curtain goes up.

Front-of-house staff and volunteers are often the first and last people an audience encounters. They need proper preparation too.

10Roles & responsibilities

These are often the pieces that get forgotten. We help organisations make sure they aren't. This applies beyond theatres — arts organisations, cultural venues and heritage organisations also depend upon knowledgeable, confident staff and volunteers dealing with visitors and the public.

Develop your people

Sometimes the organisation isn't the only thing that needs support.

Sometimes it's the building.

Heritage & Funding

Ambitious plans for important places.

Organisations responsible for heritage buildings can have extraordinary ambitions but often need additional expertise and capacity to turn them into fundable, manageable projects. We understand both the heritage asset and the organisation trying to look after it.

From bid writing to opening night.

We can become involved at one point or remain alongside the organisation throughout.

When It's Time to Open the Doors

And when it's time to open the doors...

A funded heritage project may need an opening event. A gallery may need a private view. A theatre may need a reception. An organisation may need a launch. A venue may want to hold a special event. This is an extension of what we already do — not another side of the company.
